A brain disorder characterized by compulsive behaviour in rewarding cravings regardless the consequences. The psychological and physiological inability to STOP doing or USING something harmful. Enslaved to a habit you cannot quit.

The first step to recovery in anything is to look at yourself in the mirror and admit . "I am an Social media addict , alcoholic , smoker, sex or porn addict".....

Believe it or not, this is MOST important step.

How to STOP social media addiction:

1) STOP notifications

2) SET TIMER, 1 hour/day, 7 hours/week. It is a strong test of your WILL POWER, worth it in the end.

3) PICK a new hobby. Learn a language, a musical instrument or read.

4) SPEND more TIME with LOVED ONES

5) LOOK at it as a TREAT, after you’ve done something productive.

6) TELL your friends you will be busy. Don’t allow them to add to this addiction.

7) Go COLD TURKEY. Vanish from online, replying messages, keeping updated socially .

8) Those who matter most will call you to meet for coffee

9) Keep track of time daily social media, or how many times you check your telephone

10) Keep reminding yourself of REALITY. Of what is REAL and what is NOT.

11) DELETE accounts and people, networks, groups that do not matter.

12) DELETE anything that is unproductive to you, doesn’t add quality to your life

13) PURGE your friends LIST , TRIM requests, edit security settings.

14) LIMIT your audience

15) Create DISTANCE between you and your device, especially in QUALITY TIME or BED TIME

16) Refocus on priorities

17) DEACTIVATE accounts

18) TRACK your time online versus TIME with REAL people

19) Make a LIST of family, LOVED ones and close friends, no more than 5 daily average, 10 absolute maximum, above 10, you have a problem.
